Active Adventure

Trans Algarve MTB is an incredible mountain bike program along the Algarve, from the border with Spain to Sagres, where you end this crossing at the southwestern most point in Europe, Cape São Vicente.

Typical Day

Day 1: Arrival " Welcome at LISBON/FARO airport.
4h / 1h hour drive Vila Real de Santo António.
Vila Real is an interesting old town on the banks of the Guadiana river which forms the border between Spain and Portugal. The town is full of character and not particularly touristy.
Lodging in a 3* Hotel.

Day 2: Vila Real de Santo António to Marco. (68km, +700)
Early transfer participants and bikes Sagres to Vila Real (2h) which begins the great crossing of the Algarve.
Journey start following partially bicycle path from Algarve. Passage through the “sapal” and the beautiful town of Tavira. Continued on the Ria Formosa to the Fuzeta where the route turns inland. Passage by extensive orange groves and a beautiful waterfall, unique in the Algarve. Brief entry on arrival to the mountain and Rural Hotel where we lodged tonight. Lodging in a 3* Hotel.

Day 3: Bike from Marco to Alte (69km, +1200)
Return to Algarve hills with its Mediterranean vegetation and spectacular trails, with several passages of the ford streams (better known as wet feet)! Here are some single tracks along the Alportel. We crossed a less developed region of the Algarve countryside by rail through fantastic Woods Cork. The highlight of the day goes to a fantastic single track along the creek Algibre! We also highlight the passage near Rocha da Pena, a great track with spectacular limestone peaks and lush greenery. End of the day in the typical village of Alte. Lodging in a 3* Hotel.

Day 4: Bike from Alte a Lagos (88km, +1000)
Return to the valleys and trails isolated from the Algarve countryside. Highlight the route along the dams Dams of Fennel and Arade. Passing through the city of Silves Moura! Then follow the road along the river Odelouca. Will continue in the Algarve countryside by dirt roads, passing through several villages typical of the interior and flowery fields. Later in the route follows beautiful trails along the creeks to the village of Odiaxere. Return to the sea along the Meia Praia and Lagos which ends this day. Lodging in a 4* Hotel.
Length: 7 to 8 hours

Day 5: Bike from Lagos to Sagres (56km, +1000)
Start the day by the river across Lagos. Follows a single track linking the Ponta da Piedade Lagos where we recommend a stop to enjoy this fantastic headland. Then follows almost always by the sea by countless single tracks and paths. Passing through typical old fishing villages - Burgau and Salema and several secluded beaches to get to Sagres by cliffs and cliffs! This is a fantastic day with over 20km on single tracks and trails on the cliffs! Length: 5 to 6 hours
Departure to Lisbon (3.30h to LISBON) - Lodging in a 3* Hotel.

Day 6: Departure " Farewell at LISBON airport. End of our services (transfer to the airport not included)
