River Packet, a 65-foot classic yacht, offers charter cruises on the scenic Chester River on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. This 1920-style tour boat, based in historic Chestertown, is a unique venue for both private events and public cruises.
The River Packet is Coast Guard certified to carry 108 passengers (weather and space-considering, we will take a maximum of 75 guests) in a climate controlled salon and on open air forward and upper decks. Limited table seating is available both below and on the upper deck.

Destinations
Our cruises typically start from the foot of High Street (Town Dock) in Chestertown, Maryland and travel south on the Chester River. From this starting point, the furthest we will travel (at about 8 knots) is to the Quaker Neck Landing.
We like to explore other creeks and tributaries of the Chester River, so we will run special cruises starting from Quaker Neck Landing and head towards Langford Creek and the Corsica River.
Typical Day
We run three different weekly cruises (with the exception of private charters and special events). Our dinner cruises are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, with oftentimes a most spectacular sunset midway through. Saturday afternoons we run a shorter tour (this is the only cruise without a meal). Our ever-popular brunch cruises are held every Sunday. The meal cruises (dinners and brunches) oftentimes have a "cocktail hour" before the buffet is set up.
Age range, type of group
We are all-age friendly! Children’s tickets may be less than the regular advertised price. Be sure to include ages when inquiring about child ticket costs.
Sleeping and meals
Our meals are handled by Occasions Catering in Chestertown. The dinner menus change every trip, but we consider our meals to be a "casual cuisine" of sorts. Keep in mind that we are not a restaurant, but a boat with deliciously prepared food! The buffet is well-stocked with meal items, so eating post or prior to a cruise is not necessary. Our brunch cruises are longer and have more food items to choose from.
Policies & Restrictions
We allow friendly/quiet dogs to join our cruises! We don't have a size limit for pets, just keep in mind that our gangway is relative to the tides and you may have to carry your pet on or off!
We allow smoking onboard, but only on the upper deck. We ask that you take the wind into consideration and be aware of other guests near you.
