Mount Louis is set on the tropical coastal pastures just to the north of the Daintree Rainforest. A naturally beautiful area with a mountain backdrop and many different eco systems from virgin tropical rainforests to ancient paperbark woodlands and mangroves. There is also plenty to do and see on the station from experiencing an authentic Australian cattle station to fishing, birdwatching and boar hunting.

Built in 2015 from locally sourced materials this attractive Queensland timber house is light and spacious, it is stylishly appointed and well equipped with all the comforts of home.
All bedrooms have a 40 inch flat screen TV with free to air satellite service, small kitchenette with fridge and private balconies with vistas overlooking the farm pastures.

The main living area is open plan with a large modern kitchen and comfortable lounge/dining area with 60 inch flat screen TV, blue ray player and blue tooth compatible sound system.

There is also a full size laundry room including washer and dryer and a fourth bedroom with toilet and shower.

Set on a spacious covered verandah, an outdoor kitchen and dining area is perfect for entertaining and alfresco dining. Overlooking the manicured lawns and gardens it is complete with BBQ and fridge for ice cold beers and chilled wine.

Fresh herbs such as basil, lemon grass, thyme and chilli can be picked from the gardens.

What time should I arrive?
Check in time is from 2pm and check out is at 10am
Is there a reception to collect our keys?
No, we are not on site but only a 2 minute drive from the Ranch House. We will advise your meet and greet on confirmation.
Do you have wifi or 3G internet reception?
There is no wifi at the property. As this is a remote area and 3G and mobile phone connections are sporadic at the property. Telstra's 3G data and mobile service is available at Port Bloomfield, Wujal Wujal and near the IGA store in Ayton.
Where is the nearest place to eat out?
Blooms Café in the Bloomfield township is open daily for breakfast and lunch and on Thursday evenings until 7pm for Pizza. The café will open any night for dinner if a booking is made for 4 people or more. To make a booking contact Blooms on 07 4060 8236.
Where is the nearest place to buy food?
The local IGA store at Ayton has a good selection of fresh food, meat and groceries along with less expected items such as fishing gear and car accessories. A larger supermarket can be found in Cooktown.
The property has a full size fridge freezer and it is suggested that you do the bulk of your food shopping before you arrive.
What kitchen facilities are there?
There is a full kitchen with pantry, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. There are fry pans, saucepans, toaster, electric kettle, electric mixer, mixing bowls, serving bowls and plates, salad bowl and tongs, cutlery, crockery, baking dishes, cutting boards, cooking knives and utensils. The outdoor undercover alfresco kitchen has BBQ, sink and its own fridge.
Do you supply tea and coffee?
Yes - generous provisions sufficient for your stay.
Do you supply bed linen and towels?
Yes all bed linen and towels are provided and will be replenished every 7 days. A bath sheet, hand towel and face cloth are provided for each guest. Should you require additional towels, please phone Mount Louis Station on 0407 036 583 / 0740 608 181.
How are we to leave the Ranch House on departure?
On departure please leave all used towelling and robes on the ensuite or bathroom floor. The dishwasher should be stacked and turned on, air-conditioning turned off and windows closed. The Ranch House should be left in a tidy condition with all items returned to their original position. If additional cleaning is necessary an extra charge will be incurred.
What if we break something?
There is a flat $5 charge for crockery and glassware breakages. Other items need to be discussed with the host.
What are your booking terms and conditions and do you have a cancellation policy?
Deposits:
20% deposit payable upon booking with balance due no less than 30 days prior to commencement of stay.
Cancellations:
Cancellations prior to 60 days before your stay will incur a $200 admin fee with balance of deposit fully refundable.
Cancellations between 60 days and 14 days will incur a 25% penalty + $200 admin fee.
Cancellations under 14 days will incur full tariff. No refund is available.

Mount Louis Station, Cooktown, Australia 4895

Mount Louis Station is located close to Bloomfield, 200km north of Cairns and between Cape Tribulation and Cooktown. From Cairns the journey will take approximately 4 hours. The station can be reached by road either via Cape Tribulation and the famous Bloomfield track, considered one of the finest drives in Australia (4WD required) or via the Mulligan Highway, which takes you further inland through the Great Dividing Range. From Cooktown the 60km journey will take approximately an hour.
Mount Louis has its own airstrip with a sealed runway for private or chartered aircraft.
