Vietnam is rich not only in natural beauties but also in historical and religious monuments. For this reason, our tour offers you to discover the spiritual side of Vietnam. Visits to Temple of Literature- an ancient University, One Pillar Pagoda and But Thap Pagoda -Vietnam's most iconic temples, Ethnology museum, Ho Chi Minh museum are all ‘a must' cultural sites in Vietnam. Spirit Journeys has prepared a great trekking tour through Vietnam. You will enjoy outstanding views over the Red river, green valleys, bamboo forests, waterfalls, endless rice terraces. Swimming at the nearby waterfall is an adventure you'll surely never forget.
Our trekking Vietnam tour is unlike others, since you will immerse into real life of local village people. Visits to local schools and fascinated stares from local children will give your adventure a warm note. We offer you a special boat cruising in luxurious conditions where you'll enjoy cruising among hundreds of islets, swim, practice Tai Chi on the sundeck and take part in a culinary experience in a Vietnamese spring roll cooking demonstration.

Day 1: Arrive Hanoi (-/-/D)

Upon arrival at the airport, our local guide will meet you and transfer to the hotel.

Note: Check in time is from 14.00pm. Early check in depends on availability & surcharge. If time permits take a walk through the old quarter & around Hoan Kiem Lake before heading to a restaurant for welcome dinner & trip orientation.

Day 2: Full day City- Night train to Lao Cai (B/L/D)

Today, leave your hotel early, at 8.30. Start sightseeing tour with the Temple of Literature, known as an ancient University in Vietnam - one of Vietnam's most significant historic sites with relics recognised by UNESCO. Then, wander around One Pillar Pagoda, one of Vietnam's most iconic temples. Nearby is the mausoleum of the historic figure and father of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh. Continue to picturesque West Lake and the sixth century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda. After this exciting cultural tour, enjoy your lunch in one of the city's finest restaurants. In the afternoon, visit the fascinating Ethnology Museum (closed on Mondays), which is both a research centre and a public museum exhibiting the ethnic groups of Vietnam. As an alternative to the Ethnology Museum, visit the distinguished Vietnam Women's Museum (closed on Mondays). Enjoy your dinner before then transfer to railway station for overnight train to Sapa.

Day 3: From China border to the remote area of Sapa valley (B/L/D)

The train will arrive at Lao Cai station early in the morning , located near the Chinese border. After breakfast you will have time to repack for you trek( porters will carry you luggage needed for the coming 3 days, and the rest will be transferred to Topas Ecolodge, where you will stay after the 3 day trek). Then leave Lao Cai for a drive to Ta Thang, inhabited by the Tay minority, for the starting point of your trek. Trekking is mostly uphill, with an opportunity to enjoy beautiful views over the Red River and green valley below. After lunch in Nam Ket, continue your trek towards the Red Dao village of Sin Chai. You are now in a fabulous mountainous area, the remotest part of Sapa. The trail leads through small minority villages and bamboo forests. Not many tourists have been in this area. Late in the afternoon, arrive at Sin Chai village and stay overnight in a family homestay. Overnight at homestay.

Day 4: Sin Chai -Thanh Phu -Nam Nhiu- Nam Cang (B/L/D)

Today, continue the trek by following a trail running at the bottom of the valley to Thanh Phu village.En route, enjoy the stunning view of endless rice terraces. From the village, the trail starts running uphill to the Red Dao village of Nam Nhiu, followed by breathtaking views of mountain, rivers and waterfalls. Arrive in the Nam Nhiu village just before noon, if it's a school day, you can visit a small classroom. The afternoon trekking is a bit more challenging with more ascending. A hard climb will bring you to Nam Than village and in the late afternoon, you will eventually arrive at Nam Cang village. It's time to rest your legs at the relaxing Nam Cang Riverside House before enjoying your delicious dinner. Stay overnight in a private cabin in the House.Overnight at Nam Cang Riverside House.

Day 5: Nam Cang-Nam Ngan-Thanh Phu (B/L/D)

Today, you are closer to Sapa town and the view is even more stunning. Crossing the river, follow a hilly trail through the Red Dao village of Nam Ngan to My Son village. Leaving My Son village you ascend to Nam Tong where you enjoy the aerial views over the enormous valley, rice terraces and the beautiful village of Ban Ho. The trek to Ban Ho is mostly downhill and if the weather permits, you can enjoy a swim at the nearby waterfall. Heading out of Thanh Phu you will soon see the final destination for today, Topas Ecolodge with private bungalows situated on a hilltop right in the middle of the valley. With tired legs after hiking you will enjoy transfer by car to an altitude of 1000M and a memorable night above the valley. Overnight at Topas Ecolodge.

Day 6: Ecolodge-Lech Mong-Lech Dao-Ecolodge (B/L/-)

Continue your trek from Topas Ecolodge along the footpaths of Silver Stone Mount. During the walk you witness the stunning views of the valleys and rice paddy terraces. Today, pay a visit to Lech village. If it is a school day, a visit to the village's school is a nice opportunity to meet local children. From the village, follow the trail up to the main road, enjoying the breathtaking view of dotted mountain peaks and the serene Muong Bo River below. Arrive back to Topas Ecolodge in the mid afternoon. Overnight at Topas Ecolodge.

Overnight Topas Ecolodge [Deluxe bungalow with breakfast]

Day 7: Leisure day in Sapa (B/L/D)

A day to relax and rest up after your recent adventure. If you choose to visit Sapa town, you will have a transfer to the town, where you can wander around the Sapa market at the busiest time of day. The rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the nice atmosphere of the small beautiful mountain town. For the real hiking enthusiasts we can transfer you towards Sapa town. Upon arrival to Lao Chai village, you can start walking downhill to bottom of the Muong Hoa valley, then follow the trail running along the Muong Hoa River, heading to the Black H'mong village of Y Linh Ho. From Y Linh Ho village, continue the ascent through Cat Cat village, situated on the foot of Fansipan Mountain, and arrive to Sapa town midafternoon. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Late in the afternoon, transfer back to Lao Cai station to take the overnight train to Hanoi. Overnight on Train.

Day 8: Cruising Halong with Emeraude Experience (B/L/D)

Arrive to Hanoi early in the morning. Transfer to a small hotel near the railway station for a quick shower & breakfast before departing to Halong. The journey takes you through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life. Upon arrival, check in at the Emeraude Cafe. A welcome drink will be served as the boat leaves the harbour. Have lunch as you cruise among hundreds of islets to discover unspoilt pockets of Halong Bay and visit ‘Sung Sot', one of the most imposing grottos of the Bay. With luxurious air-conditioned cabins, a divine restaurant, two bars and a sundeck this is the ultimate Halong Bay experience. As the boat cruises through the limestone karsts and clear waters in the afternoon, several options are available. On-board kayaks are available for those wishing to go out for a paddle (guest's account) or have a swim off the boat's platform. For those seeking culinary experience take part in a Vietnamese spring roll cooking demonstration on the sundeck. After the sun sets, enjoy a scrumptious international / Vietnamese buffet dinner. Day 9: Halong-Hanoi (Brunch/-/-)

Start your day with a Tai Chi Class on the sundeck. Later on, after you disembark the Emeraude, a driver will transfer you back to Hanoi. As an optional extra, and according to your flight schedule, on your way back to Hanoi, you can include various stops in the Red River Delta- visit one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam ‘But Thap', the Bat Trang Pottery village, or a small village where you can watch a traditional water puppet performance.
