I grew up in Sonora, California, earned a BA in Child Psychology from UCDavis and an MS in Summer Camp Administration from Touro University of Nevada. As a child I spent multiple summers attending day camps in Marin County, residential Scout camps in Tuolumne and Adventure camps in the Yosemite area. For the last 8 years I have been working for Camp Augusta, a well-established and very intensive summer experience located about 7 miles from the Woolman School. For Augusta, I worked in nearly every department during my time, from counseling to leadership to registrations to marketing to administration to family networking and more.

What started as a summer job very quickly became a lifestyle and a career passion, fueled by the depth of philosophy explored in my community. I trained in Nonviolent Communication for many years, operated on a consensus structure in a flat hierarchy and worked pointedly to develop a compassionate, empathy-based approach to staff and camper management. It was also through these experiences that I learned to place tremendous value on high quality nutrition and the sourcing of local and organic foods in camper diets---in this making Woolman's system even more ideal. I believe very, very strongly in the importance of choice philosophy, the freedom of the exploratory spirit, and the need for radical acceptance of the unique beauty in each soul. My future work in this field is literally dedicated to the foundation of an inspired microcosm, in that it is the surest way to grow positive change in the world. In this sense, I see Camp Woolman as just cresting on its true potential to develop as a place of deeply reaching challenge to the heart, soul and spirit of anyone who touches it to shine its brightest. My excitement is beyond words to have this opportunity!
