Minnesota is located in the northern Midwest of the US and borders Wisconsin, Iowa, the Dakotas, Canada and the Great Lakes. A trip to Minnesota may not necessarily be your typical idea of a beach vacation, but Lake Superior is a top destination spot for many Midwesterners. There is much to see and do when you go on a Minnesota vacation.
In the winter months the twin cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis come alive with snow festivals and Christmas events. The twin cities are filled with luxurious hotel accommodations, delicious restaurants, shopping spots and concert venues. For you art lovers visit the World Class Modern Art Museum or the Walker Art Center during your Minnesota travels. If you are looking for a more nature oriented experience, be sure to tour the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. In the summer visitors are drawn to the many Minnesota state parks and the boating, fishing and swimming in Lake Superior. Finally, don’t forget to visit the Mall of America, the nation’s largest mall and a popular American shopping destination!
On your Minnesota vacation be sure to explore the Boundary Water Canoe Area, a wilderness preserve that offers guided tours and boat rides. Also check out the local art or folk music festivals in the area. Plan a trip to Minnesota for your next family vacation or weekend getaway; you’ll be glad you did!
