Four diamond luxury in the heart of Taos. On-site fitness facility w/ workout room, sauna, massage/spa treatments, gardenside hot tub. Rooms have stocked fridges, TV w/VCR, fireplaces. Some have spa shower, jetted tubs. Rates include 2 meals per day.
Taos's culture and history are a reflection of the blend of Native American, Spanish Colonial and American settlers that represented waves of immigration to the area. Taos Pueblo is a United Nations World Heritage site, representing the best example of living Pueblo architecture and culture. Two multi-storied buildings built of adobe mud brick and local timbers flank the Rio Pueblo, with Taos Mountain in the distance. Taos, with its many museums and hsitoric homes open to the public, tells the story of the arrival of Spanish conquistadores, French trappers and American pioneers. Don't miss sites include the San Francisco de Asis church (made famous by Georgia O'Keeffe's painting of the backside of the building under different light of day), the Hacienda de los Martinez and the Millicent Rogers Museum. Scenic beauty, however, is the number one reason people visit the Land of Enchantment and Taos affords many opportunities to soak up nature's beauty. The Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway is an 84-mile loop drive through several mountain villages that surround the state's highest mountain, Wheeler Peak. Also highly recommended is a trip to the Wild Rivers Recreation Area where the Rio Grande Gorge is 800 feet deep. With more than 80 shops and fine art galleries, featuring the work of the Taos art colony, avid collectors and casual shoppers alike will find more than one "must have" piece to take home.
Individually decorated, with attention paid to the smallest detail, guest rooms
and suites are comfortable, southwestern, welcoming and restful and meet the exacting standards of AAA's four diamond rating. All have either wood-burning or gas log fireplaces, cable-color TV with VCR, CD player with a selection of CDs, bar areas with mini-fridges stocked with complimentary juices, juice spritzers, mineral waters and sodas. Each private bath has luxurious robes, custom toiletries, hair dryer and extra large bathsheets. Some rooms have two-person jetted tubs and spa showers. All rooms have private outside entrances that open onto terraces and courtyards with fountains, flowers and garden areas. The inn
is a hacienda compound on nearly an acre, surrounded by a high wall and flanked by 17 towering trees, just 3 blocks from the Taos Plaza.
Rooms range in price from moderate to expensive and all room rates include a full breakfast (three courses) and an evening buffet supper. A variety of bed sizes accommodate families, couples and friends. Some larger rooms have sofa sleepers. Several rooms have been named `the best' in New Mexico by Frommer's Guide.
An on-site fitness facility has work-out equipment, indoor sauna and dedicated massage/spa treatment room. An outdoor hot tub is off the back garden.
Spa and massage treatments, either in the massage room or in guest rooms, include massage, massage with hot rocks, aromatherapy facials, salt glow scrubs, deluxe hand and feet treatments, paraffin dips, herbal steam tent, hair and scalp treatments and more. Several spa packages, from a three hour Head-to-Toe package called The Works to Three Day and Five Day packages, are specially-priced and represent a great value.
