Beach House w/Pool, Sleeps 6-10, Newly Remodeled Great base for south muai holliday. Oct 18, 2010 01:57 pm The house ahold be described as half a house as it's the upper level of the caretakers home. Appart from that the description is spot on.
The place is clean, well maintained with a great pool. The quality mark was put at 4 for a few minnor details people could say is nit picking. The doors to the front of the house are sliding with simple locks and do not feel very secure. The pool house door is the same. The house also had no safe that we could seem to use but did forget to ask the owners as there was one in a closet. Did feel 100%safe leaving values there. The pool house seemed a little run down compaired to the main house but was a funtional but small place. The description that only 2 adults can share it is correct. We had 3 adults stay there and it was cramped.
The last nit picking was the lack of curtains/blinds on the windows. We found ourselves having to go to bed early to get up with sunrise. Not a bad thing but not what we wanted.
The house is well equipped with everything you need. We cooked for our shelves at dinner, lunch and breakfast. There is a grill/BBQ but was no gas bottle. The decks had great views. The beach was a stones throw away if you wanted yo leave the lovely pool.
The island location was great. We could WALK (yes in the States) to shops, sea sports hire shops, supermarket, post office, drugs store and restaurants (Stella blues was great). Hana and volcano drives easy from here. Also the north island side to the blow hole can be done within half a day depending on stops you do.
The diving off of kihei in the bay was the best, simples. Black rock to snorkel.
The last comment is on service. Jeremy And Amber were great hosts, lovely people, very helpful, friendly and approachable. They were very willing to help us out, help find places for my wedding parties needs, irons and loan of some kayaks and boogie boards. Also places to eat/drink.
The reason for the 4 rating was the booking payment process. Jeremy's mum runs the bookings. The issue is the payment method, cheque (check) only is out dated and inconvienent. Cheques from outside the US cannot be used. Would have to use some international version that has no security and bank advised with size of value not to use. We ended up using a friend who moved back to the US to pay via. PayPal, XE Currency or credit cards would be far better. I would pay more to cover any charges for using this.
All in all this place is great. The photos look just like the house. Cannot fault the quality, the owners or location. I would return here in the future and send friends here it going to Maui.
