Kayaking & Much More... At Waters Edge Beach House Great Kayaking, Great Pond, Great House Feb 12, 2012 11:09 am My husband and I spent a vacation at A Beach House at Waters Edge, in Plymouth Massachusetts . I have always lived by the water, but this is the first time I have stayed right next to a 375 acre pond. Great Herring Pond is enormous, and full of lively wildlife. We immediately went kayaking in one of the kayaks parked at the beach for the guest’s use. There were hawks, ospreys, geese, ducks, swans, and really large fish that jumped and splashed around. The pond is quite large, and I think we could spend a week or a year kayaking there and not see everything!
There as a very long dock with chairs at the end of it. When you sit there, you feel like you are in the middle of the lake. The photography possibilities are fabulous. There is also a paddleboat to play with. The beach is white and sandy, and perfect for swimming.
Once you tear yourself away from the beach and pond, there is a wonderful shady screened deck overlooking the pond. The bedroom has sliding doors overlooking the pond, and a giant fluffy bed all in white. After a little nap, we ate dinner on the dock, where there is a big fancy grill and comfy tables and chairs! There is a big TV and a complete kitchen and bath. Everything was perfect and clean beautifully decorated.
I stayed at Denise and Jacks previous bed and breakfast, which was spectacular. A Beach House at Waters Edge took my breath away. I can’t believe how big the fish were, and I can’t wait to come back.
