We had a fabulous time! The beach was beautiful with plenty of chairs available. The entertainment was fantastic, both in the evenning and during the day by the beach and at the pools. Each of the three huge pools had their own entertainment. The staff were very polite and helpful and were willing to help out in whatever way they could. Huge variety of food and all the different restaurants and drinks were plenty. I truly recomment Grand Bahia Principe to anyone who lis looking for a fantastic place to have fun while relaxing in a beautiful Carribbean beach!

This was our first experience in an all inclusive resort. This resort is huge and it takes time to get to know and move around. We liked the all incusive aspect of it. Food was good and plentiful. My wife is vegetarian and found enough things to eat. The meals, drinks, shows and activities were quite good. It is a great place to go and relax.
The rooms could be better though, and were not upto the standards we are used to in the US. We stayed at the Punta Cana section of the resort and paid a little more for a deluxe room. The bed and pillows were not what we expect from a room of that cost. The TV was quite small and antique and the picture quality was poor, the remote had no way to select a channel by keying in the channel number so one had to keep pressing the up button 40 times to go up 40 channels. There was no clock in the room and none was delivered even though we called them twice for one. The shower is not completely closed so water could spill over into the bathroom and also carry over to the room which is not carpeted.
Scheduling meals in the restaurants was also not easy, but in any case we found the buffets (where no reservation is needed) to be quite good.

Beautiful place. Good food. Fun entertainment. Great beach area. Nice pools. Only negatives are constant selling of excursions, vacation clubs and high pressure selling of goods in resort market area. Also most rooms are a good distance from beach. But there are constant shuttles.
It was good but not the best value I have had with similar types of properties.

Overall the trip was good.
It was our honeymoon therefore I had greater expectations then when I have traveled to similar properties for a vacation. A couple of comments... The Bahia Prinicipe is actually 4 different resorts on one property. That said - we could have been sold an up grade upon check in and would have done it. The Punta Cana portion of the resort is the least expensive part and that is where we stayed. We did educate ourselves with the differences between the properties (our own fault)
There was a huge language barrier - Even the front desk people could not speak english very well. It made it nearly impossible to get questions answered which was a bit frustrating. I found out from some other guests who were staying in the other sections that the staff in those sections spoke english very well.
The resort is very big! Lots of walking or waiting for trollies. I prefer a more intimate resort myself.
The food was good, the french restaurant (a la carte) was fabulous. The room was clean and over all felt very safe.
