The Scandic Simonkentta hotel delivers! The room we stayed in was very comfortable; it wasn't large but it had everything we needed and the bedding and mattress was extremely comfortable as was the room temperature. The hotel is located down the street from the train station (where the Finnair bus leaves to and from Vantaa Helsinki Airport) and close to Mannerheim which has all of the wonderful restaurants (check out the Virgin Oil Company if you have a chance) and shops including the very elegant Stockmann's Department store. It is also a quick walk from the hotel to the Esplanade Park which is beautiful and where you can pick up the sightseeing bus tour. The front desk attendants were very helpful in assisting me to to make arrangements to take the boat to nearby Tallinn, Estonia for the day and taxis sit right outside of the hotel just in case you don't feel like walking or if your destination is not within walking distance. I highly recommend the Scandic Simonkentaa and would go back in a heartbeat. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay in this very beautiful and functional hotel.
