This was our first visit to the Cayman Islands and it certainly won't be our last, what a beautiful place!! We just returned from a week long stay at the Grand Cayman Beach Suites and thought it was absolutely WONDERFUL...we would return tomorrow if we could!! The location is fab, the beach and water are absolutely spectacular, the hotel suite was lovely and all of the staff all week were just great... very friendly, helpful and professional. We were there from September 21-28 and very fortunately had beautiful weather the entire week and enjoyed several excursions (snorkeling and diving) with Red Sail Sports which were easily arranged right at the hotel. We found the suite to be very spacious and very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the view of the beach from our balcony was amazing! I had called before we arrived and requested a room on a higher floor and we were on the fourth floor which was great! We were on the side of the hotel where the construction is ongoing next door but found that that never bothered us because the units seem to be very well soundproofed and we were always up early for our day's adventure! The pool area is beautiful and the chairs at the pool and the beach are very comfortable as others have mentioned. This is a lovely small "boutique" hotel with only 50 rooms so the beach in front of the resort was never crowded. Even with lots of people at the pool and children playing it was still very relaxing in the pool area...the landscaping is beautiful!! The swim-up pool bar was wonderful, food and drinks are a bit pricey but that is the case everywhere in the islands in my experience and you are on vaca anyway so who cares?? We bought groceries at the Foster's Supermarket (very nice) which is just a couple of blocks away and ate several meals in our suite which helped save $$, also bought our own liquor at the nearby liquor store and that was a much better deal! The housekeeping ladies were wonderful, brought us chocolates for our pillow every evening and a rum cake on our last night there...such a lovely touch!! Met another couple who was also there for their first time there and they loved the hotel and Grand Cayman Island as much as we did! I can't wait to return to GCBS as soon as possible...what a GREAT place!!!

Overall the resort if very nice. It is small but that can be a good thing. There a few things to keep in mind : food and drinks on this island are very expensive this is why we like to have a suite/condo set up so we can control how many meals we have to have out. This resort has many things in the plus column; The staff was very friendly and knowledgable about the area and were able to meet all of our requests, right on the beach with clear warm water and plenty of sea life to see using snorkeling equipment, dive shop on location, bar and restaurant (expensive but good quality food) on the location but it does allow you a chance to get out of your room and meet new people. They don't have any planned activities on resort so bring some games or cards to keep yourself entertained in the evening and a good book for the beach. I am really glad that we were able to get a unit with a balcony that allowed us to have meals on the balcony and to put our suits out the dry. There are bars, restaurants, and food and clothing shopping in walking distance. Overall we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend Eats Cafe for good food for decent prices it is in walking distance.
The only change I would recommend they make at Grand Cayman Suites is changing the carpeting in the lobby. It had a a very bad sour laundry smell and since you have to go through the lobby to get to and from your room it was the only unpleasant truly unpleasant part of the stay.

We spent 5 nights 4 days there. Welcoming champaign was great. Limited parking spot is ok for non peak season. Ok to pay for WIFI service at $9.99 per night. But shouldn't charge for the day we left. Also, no TV signal for 2 nights was really frustrated. Especially pool hours till 6pm. Our daughter got nothing to do at all. Construction in next building was an headache from 7am.
