We have stayed here several times over the past 15 years. We are always impressed: by the setting and the building, by the staff and the room, and by the nearby town, Zihuatenejo.
The site is a hillside, going down to a private bay on the Pacific. Each room has a private patio with a spectacular view; we have never had a less-than-perfect room. There are a nice beach and a gorgeous pool area. The setting for the breakfast buffet is possibly the most enjoyable feature of a stay at this hotel: the buffet is great, but view of the birds, foliage and the bay are amazing.
We always go to Zihuatnejo (a short taxi ride), where we browse shops and find enjoyable meals. The hotel concierge has recommendations and makes reservations at nice restaurants.
We keep coming back; we have recommended Las Brisas to others, and they have all reported wonderful experiences. What else can I say?

This was our eleventh stay at this hotel and we will keep coming back. The staff, especially on the beach, is awesome. The hotel is situated on a large private beach, so it is free of vendors and serviced by the hotel staff. The hotel is built into the side of a hill, so there are many stairs to be navigated to get down to the beach. There is a service that will drive guests to the beach if needed. The food is pretty good but expensive. We find it a better option to either walk into Ixtapa (morning excersize, about 1 mile), or cab it (45 peseos) to the local restaurants (Blue Shrimp 49 pesos for 2 eggs, toast, coffee, juice...same deal at Chile Beans) . That compares to just coffee at Las Brisas for 37 pesos.
I do recommend this hotel highly. It's one of our favorite vacation spots. Also, we never had any feeling that there was any danger from "drug gangs...etc. We felt very secure even during our stay.

This was my 5th trip to Las Brisas Ixtapa. It is truly one of the most beautiful spots. The pools could use a little updating, but otherwise, the views are to die for, the service old-word and impeccable. My family's favorite destination.
