Located just next to Vonder Park, of course, in a picturesque neighborhood close to two tram stops.

Although It wasn't super close to shopping, restaurants, the hotel was modern as depicted in pictures and the stroll to downtown and museums was pleasant because it offered a chance to see Amsterdam's unique architecture. Rail service id very close if it's raining, and inexpensive. Bed was very comfortable. Unique room. Only draw backs are no elevator in lobby wing of building, so had to lug down flights of stairs and free internet is only in lobby.
A nice, small hotel just far enough from the action to be peaceful

Stayed at the PPVondelpark for a long layover. The room was small, but I expected that and it didn't bother me. I know they have bigger rooms, I was keeping things as inexpensive as possible. It's set in an old dutch neighborhood, but inside it's quite modern and nicely appointed, and just a short tram ride from the museum district and the shopping/tourist areas.
A big bonus is that my room had heated floors, which was great since it was cooold outside during my stay. Warm feet go a long way towards winning points in my book.
The only negatives really were that you have to pay for internet (Can someone please explain to me why the cheap hotels always offer free wireless while the expensive hotels insist on charging $10 a day??? I mean, even McDonalds has free internet ) and the bed wasn't great, although as tired as I was I didn't really care at the time.
Anyway, I do think this is a good hotel for the cost and will most likely stay there again next time I'm in Amsterdam.

This was my first time traveling to Amsterdam and I was traveling solo. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful when it came to directions and service. Room was Euro-small which was a little expected on my part. Not the room as advertised in the pictures though. My room had a view of the main street. Tram ran right in front of the hotel so was easy to travel around the city and get to the hotel from the airport. Not too much noise from the street but if you are sensitive to street noise you may want to ask for a room facing the back of the hotel. Hotel in a nice quiet neighborhood that is great for walking around and has a lovely park with a pond down the street.
Draw-backs- The bed was hard like a brick and low to the ground Not my thing.

I enjoyed my stay here and felt overall, it is a good value-comfortable, clean room (we booked the superior room). We opted to walk into Leidsplein area as well as other main points of interest, and felt that Amsterdam was quite accessible by foot, and enjoyed walking through the neighborhoods.
