The view- beautiful! The restaurants and waitstaff- amazing. That is where it ends. The hotel is " no frills". No special touches, no frills. Very basic. The pool is, believe it or not, freezing. Service at the pool- non- existent. We rented a cabana for the week, cancel it. The cabanas are shabby and the service was horrid. There was one server, he ran all day, but he was the only one for the entire south pool. While we were there, during Feb. break, the staff was wrapping palm trees with lights for a party. They were asking people to leave their lounge chairs so they wrap them in the middle of the afternoon. We ordered a salad for lunch. After 45 minutes we were told, I quote..." Oh yeah, they are going to make that for you." The rooms were in need of a face lift. There were small ants and the drawers made your clothes smell, so we used the closet. The doors, all noisy. The room doors all slam. All night you hear them slamming. They do not close, so you have to push on it to close. The bathroom doors slam, you hear that too. The hotel itself- disorganized! They had a beautiful fireworks show- saw it accidentally, not a mention. No organized activities. We were truly disappointed. Not sure how they call themselves a "Waldorf " :(
staff very friendly, beautiful view, horrible rooms

When you arrive staff is there to greet you and help you. The views and the private island are worth the stay. The private island has a lot of activities. We snorkeled and kayak. It does cost to kayak and jet ski, but a lot of fun. There food is ok, but not worth the money. Rent a car and eat at the local resturants off the resort and visit the rain forest. Walmart is close. Our room smelled bad, the rooms also have mold, but we were only in the room to sleep and shower. Rooms are spacious. Pools are nice, but cold. Take a lot of money. Also cost to park..twenty a day. Great shopping at the resort.

In summery, I would not recommend this hotel. Much too isolated.
Nice hotel but very large..meaning spread out. Not easy with very small children

We enjoyed our 8 day stay however this hotel is quite old and needs work. Staff was great but not many ahhh, oh,ooh moments. We loved the private. Beach but in off season when we went in October ferry runs every hour...so if you miss it you wait... That is the only beach so no morning walks or evening walks on the beach. That was a bummer. We stayed at the marina...nice, very secluded great porch but rooms are by very basic. Bed, desk, chair...not much personality.nif we paid in season rates and had to wait for cable car, or ferry or restaurants we 'd be very disappointed. Eat off site, la fagota... Will cost same between cab and food than eating at resort. The strip house food was excellent. Lobster there was amazing... Great cheesecake and fondue.....seafood restaurant mediocre.... Everything quite pricey...but expected to be that way. Thank goodness for the amazing beach, otherwise a disappointment. Won't return to p.rico but will return. To the Caribbean. This is a 3.5 star hotel. On a 5 star budget... We have stayed around the world so appreciate a nice hotel.
