The hotel itself is the original old site for Palmas so it is not the most modern place. The pool does not have any lights, so swimming at night is not as fun. It would be a good investment since the bar is right on the water. too bad they don't spend the money to light up the pool area.
The staff is helpful but the system is slow so they take a lot of time while registering and reserving.
Food is expensive and not as good.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms recently redecorated, clean, and bug free. Very nice setting. On the negative side, the hotel advertised safes in room but these were available only in some rooms. Service in hotel restaurant was slow even by Puerto Rican standards, but food was good. There are several good, moderately priced restaurants in the resort complex. I would stay here again and would consider upgrading to a larger room.

We mostly loved this resort. It's in need of renovation, but the staff are terrific. Our biggest disappointment was that the beach was posted as having dangerous riptides and doesn't have any lifeguards. So we had to drive north to Fajardo and Luquillo to swim and snorkel. This meant an excursion every day, looking for beaches with changing rooms, etc. More of a hassle than we had in mind.

beautiful surroundings, view on the beach breathtaking. plenty for our 7 year old son to do, he loved the pool! would recommend you get a room with a fridge, go to a store in the local area and get snacks and drinks to keep in your room! food was very expensive there. poolside bar and grill tasty, but pricey. there is a Walmart a few exits down from the Humacao exit, you can stock up there! We had a great experience! Staff helpful and friendly!

I was recently at the four points and enjoyed myself. I read recent reviews and was a little hesitate to about staying there...I was happy that I did ; ) The staff were extremely helpful. The other staff were quite helpful in giving direction outside of the complex to visit old San Juan, the Rainforest, Bacardi Distillery, ect. although the packet given to us from the frt. desk need to be revised and be a little more detailed. I think if you ventured outside the complex and enjoy the culture there would be a different outlook of your stay. My boyfriend and I relaxed the first couple of days to familiarize ourselves with the resort. We learned that we did not like Sebastian's, La Brochette was "Great" - alittle expensive but worth it. Outside the resort before the freeway (Hwy. 53) - next to subway's, "Martin's Barbecue" inexpensive with good food, try the chicken with pinto beans or the blk. beans...loved it and the Mofongo...we had a rental car and went out. We wanted to see Puerto Rico. The driving is a different than what we are accustomed to at home. The rush hour traffic coming back from San Juan to Humacao. Overall the four points was a great stay...we enjoyed the beautiful pool & the other vcationers and staff who were really nice and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily, the valet attendants were courteous and always nice. We enjoyed our stay at the four points and in PR. My advice to others is to try for yourself and determine if it was worth you staying their again or even recommending it to others. But I know we will be back next yr. around the same time...less people around.
