The hotel was def not a 4 star hotel. It was maybe a 3 and that is pushing it. The information stated that it was recently remodeled - not sure where but not our room. It was very old and just not that nice. The beach was ok - nothing great. The area was very poverty stricken and not at all the serene, beautiful landscape that we were sold. There were homeless people everywhere and it was so very sad. Every single time we walked out the doors of the hotel we ran into many, many homeless people and it broke our hearts. Also, the hotel charged us $20 per day for a car rental...Really? That was awful. We will never go back to Puerto Rico again and never stay at the Marriot. I have been to many Islands and this was by far, the worst experience I have ever had.

The Marriott was the best Resort in San Juan. The pool area was great. The Casino was in a generous mood when I played. The double live band at the salsa club were the best I ever heard. Overall I give the Marriott a five star rating in every category.

A 3-4 star hotel. Â Room service is expensive but delicious. Nice pools for just walking around in, one is only 2 feet deep and the other one is 4 ft. They had some construction going on around the hot tub, so it was a little noisy when you are trying to relax. Ocean has rough waves and a lot of seaweed, but the water is warm and blue. Key card didn't work twice for us, had to get security to open the door for us. Â They could do a better job cleaning the bathtubs. Elevators have a funky smell to them. Beers are $8 a bottle and specialty drinks like a pina colada are $12 (not including the tips). Â Breakfast is NOT included with this hotel and averages around $16 for one buffet. Â Parking is also not free here and is $16/ per day; find on street parking instead it's free. Â The one outstanding thing here was the hotel staff- very warm and friendly and ready to help any of the guests.

The hotel is very well maintained and centrally located. Our room was large, with large balconies. The only thing to be aware of - this part of the beach is well-known to surfers because the waves are good, and close to the shore. So, be prepared to get tossed around a little when you wade out. Of course, the hotel can't control that. The pool and amenities are excellent.Â

I JUST RETURNED FROM THE SAN JUAN MARRIOTT AND IT WAS AMAZING. IT IS CENTRALLY LOCATED. WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE YOU CAN EAT, SHOP OR JUST GO FOR A STROLL. THE POOL WAS GREAT, VERY CLEAN AND THE BEACH IS WITHIN A FEW FEET FROM THE HOTEL. THE SERVICE AT THE BARS AND LOBBY WERE ALSO EXCELLENT.. I WILL BE RETURNING SOON.
