McKinley Chalet Resort Debra -- Aug 06, 2009 07:21 pm Complete "Bait and Switch" DO NOT STAY HERE if you are not part of a large Tour group! This "resort" (HA!) is designed for elderly tour groups, not individuals or families on vacation. The room we book was not consistent with what we were given. For $339 a night we received a very small, dark, "mini-suite" with a twin bed, a double bed and a lousy pull-out in a 3 story building >200 yards from either the river or the main compound. We booked a family suite by the river with two queen beds and pull out. No microwave and fridge as was promised (you need to eat every meal at their overpriced, slow cafe). Vacationing families would be much better off finding a non-ARAMARK hotel or cabin, or camp. NOT even worth $100 a night even in (or close to) Denali!!! |
