I have received numorous recommendations from family and people passing through that the shilo in was a decent place to stay...hopefully my experience was the exception to the rule.

I want to say up front that the staff were excellent, friendly, and tried to do all that they could to make the most of our stay!
Upon first walking in, it looked like someone had knocked a baseball out of the park and through one of their giant lobby light fixtures. Although the rest of the lobby was nice & well kept, this was a bit of a "first impression eye sore". The beds were a bit uncomfortable, but pretty clean. The room itself needed a little more TLC from the cleaning staff and maintenance... the toilette paper was on the last 2-3 squares, there were only 2 kleenexes left in the box (both issues were quickly remedied by guest services), and when you closed the door to the room, the dust bunnies along the wall would dance like something out of the Nutcracker ballet. We decided that we were not so into bare feet on the carpet.
When we awoke in the morning (after very little sleep, a very long and hurried drive for a family funeral, and frigid temperatures & blowing snow), a nice warm shower to wake-up to was just what my mother (who was traveling with me needed) and I needed. Unfortunately, she discovered that the little plug for the shower to make it come out of the shower head instead of the spicket wasn't working. She decided to try her contortionist skills in the interest of time and shower under the shower spicket...but quickly realized that there was also no hot water.
I being a bit less agile, called the front desk asking them to come check on the shower, and if it couldn't be fixed, to let me use a near by room to shower. Immediately they sent someone that confirmed that she could not get the shower to work correctly either, so she opened up the suite next door. Although I was able to get the water to rain down on my head, I too ended up with frigid cold water. When I called the desk again, they let me know that the boiler for the hot water had gone out for the entire hotel. I truly felt bad for the poor ladies having to answer the guest services desk that morning, as I am sure that I was not the last phone call, and was probably one of the most pleasant. In hindsight I should have just taken a dip in the indoor pool or hot tub! Needless to say, the issues we experienced are all relatively fixable, and probably just a comedy of errors. I would definately give the Shilo another try thanks to their customer friendly and quick-responding staff.

We were finishing up a long trip and had some issues getting into our room. The staff were some of the nicest people on our trip. They made sure we were taken care of and we got upgraded! (Although I'm sure that doesn't happen all the time). Breakfast in the morning was great, too. Needless to say, it was a very nice end of the trip!

For the price you can't beat this hotel in Twin. I've stayed here many times. Great 24 hour indoor pool and spa. Rooms are very large, separate living space with sink and fridge. If you have other options near this price....I wouldn't look further.
