  • Not quite "minutes" from downtown Boston, but a value and pleasant stay

The only drawback to the hotel is that it is described as being "minutes" from the freedom trail. It's actually several miles to the south of Boston and you can't walk there from the hotel. To this end, the hotel, which is very affordable - offers several amenities - such as free shuttle service to the airport and to the subway. Also, the hotel charges you a resort fee of a few dollars a day. The rooms are clean and pleasant (free WiFi), and there are restaurants and a pub nearby. For those on a tight budget, it's not a bad place to be - and it is much nicer than a youth hostel. The staff, especially, are quite pleasant. But if you want to be downtown and have a leisurely walk or cheap taxi back to your hotel, this isn't the place for you.

  • This hotel was a disappointment.

We thought we would be much closer to the downtown area. There is a free shuttle to the subway but then the subway ride was another 15 minutes. The elevator was clunky and made scary mechanical noises. The building needs an upgrade once you get beyond the lobby. The floors were in need of new carpet and one of two vending machines and one of two washing machines were out of order. The pool water was cold. The floor plan is like a hard-to-use maze. It was not as noisy as I would have thought with the airport so close.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We walked in and the staff were not friendly at all. As we walked to our room, the hallways wreaked of urine. The room was not very clean. We called around trying to get a room somewhere else but no one had anything available. We complained and we given another room on the "newer" third floor addition. Someone had punched a hole in the bathroom door(only visible from inside the bathroom), toilet seat was cracked, toilet kept running all night. Again, room was not very clean, hair in the tub and on the floor. Took a shower and reach for a towel only to find a hair on it and toothpaste. Gross. Went to iron clothes and found two large blood stains on the ironing board cover. Never again!

  • I liked it here

I recently stayed at this hotel and quite frankly I cannot understand why people were rather harsh with their review. I did have a room on the first floor near the pool and there was a bit of a 'pool smell', but you also arent sleeping in the hallway either. The pool isnt not open late so the noise factor is low in that regard, but there other people staying here and they might be clueless to keep it down as they go their room, that isnt the hotels fault, that is inconsiderate people in general. Once in my room no issues. It was a quite a clean room. I had informed them I was going to be a late check-in. As I was enroute the manager called to see if I was still coming, and was quite friendly in his manner. I appreciated that call, also i was only charged for one night not 2, even though I booked for 2 nights. (but arrived after 1 am) Other staff members were quite friendly. From the front desk staff when I was checking out, to the staff during breakfast. Even the guys that drove the shuttle to the T were very nice and friendly. There are plenty of **** and ***** hotels in and around the Boston area, if you want top shelf then stay there. if you are of Mr. & Mrs. Americana with 2.5 kids, this place is quite good and fine for the money. Personally if people didnt hoard food from the buffet they might not have to raise their prices.. I saw alot of hoarding and felt like what 'your never gonna eat again?
