Start off with this: the service was good. The staff were attentive and helpful, the room was cleaned and ready at my arrival. BUT, the building has seen its better days, needs to be given its last rites and torn down. At this point, it would probably cost more to renovate it than to tear it down and start over. The outside of the building looked like it had been recently painted, but there was still a lot of rust evident. The light fixtures inside the room were slowly peeling apart. There were numerous patched holes in the wall [painted and looked nice enough]. Some of the walls were a little bit bowed, no longer straight and true. The door hinges appeared to have been screwed in so many times that the next time a screw falls out, it won't be replaced. There's only so much they can do [and they've tried!], but this building is ready to be retired.

Came to Portland for the Marathon. Needed a cheap room and found the Travelodge.
The staff was all friendly, a big plus. They have breakfast, basic fare which is fine as there is a Denny's next door if you want more.
Room was very basic, with a desk and easy chair. It did have free internet, a very big plus.
Bed could have been better, as it was too soft and pretty worn out.
I would stay there again, if only for a night.
