The reviews were more than a year old so we decided to give it a try for a short Labor Day getaway. The motel lobby breakfast area was clean and well stocked and looked just like the picture. Taking advantage of the complementary breakfast of toasted bagels, cream cheese, waffles, danish, cereal and coffee saved time and travel. The pool was open and very nice, another guest said the pool was supposed to be heated but it wasn't. The in room refrigerator and coffee maker were clean and functional. The room had a strong, unpleasant odor of disinfectant. The tub was refinished and was three different colors of cracked peeling finish; it looked dirty. The motel is an easy drive to any beach from Ocean City to Cape May, NJ. We planned on spending all day at the local beaches and returned every evening sandy, wet, tired and happy. We didn't plan on spending much time at the motel but we wouldn't go back.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. This was one of the best beds in a hotel room I have slept in. I have slept in crappy hotels and i have slept in some of the best hotels. I never slept as hard as I did here. The room was very clean and the staff very accomodating. Breakfast was enjoyable and if given the chance i would definately stay here again. The just need to lay off the air freshner!

Overall visit was good. The room we had was a King Non-Smoking. The room itself was OK. The bathroom needed definite repairs. The shower curtain rod was cracked and the plastic peeling plus the floor wasn't very clean. The towels were not soft at all. In fact, it was like drying off with a burlap sack. The room deoderizer they use is way too strong of a flower scent and made my wife nauseous. We actually had to buy our own can of Lysol Citrus to get rid of that scent.

First, when I checked in, the desk clerk tried to charge me more than the price I booked it for online.
Second, as I was unloading my luggage from my car, a teenage couple was unloading a case of beer from their car (I should have left right then).
Third, the online photos of this hotel must have been taken when the hotel was first built, because they ARE NOT an accurate representation of the hotel.
As soon as I opened the door to my room (which looked like someone had taken a sledge hammer to it from the outside AND inside), the smell of overused airfreshener hit me right in the face. After about 30 seconds, the smell that the air freshener was used to mask came right through... similar to a public restroom at a rest stop. The bathroom was rusty, dirty and outdated. Anything that had two screws or caps was missing one of them. Refrigerator and Microwave in room, but can't comment because I didn't use them.
Fourth, security..... Ha!! Four security cameras in use, but no one is monitoring them. Also, no one knows how to view the security tape.
Best part of stay was checking out at 3:00 am.
I seriously don't know how this hotel is open if the town has a health inspector and/or building inspector.
DO NOT STAY HERE!

This hotel is not worth the price based on the office staff and cleaniness of the carpet. The location is great in realation to Cape May and Atlantic City, but the lack of amenities/cleaniness detracts from the overall appeal. This is a older facility which need some upgrading of the fixtures, refrigerator, hair dryer and furniture. The carpeting was horrendously dirty, turning white socks black. There was an overwhelming, stifling smell of the air freshner that is sprayed in each room to present the appearance of cleaniness. While the staff did change towels each day, the furniture is given a brief dusting of some of the exposed surface and the tables and chairs were sticky from who knows what. The office staff was very un-responsive to requests and was unable/unwilling to provide a receipt for services rendered. Nice size pool for children, no lifeguard, no towels. This would not be my first choice for location if I were to return to the area.
