As other reviewers have noted, the best thing about this hotel is its location in the center of Santa Fe, in easy walking distance to churches, museums, galleries and restaurants, and a very short drive to Museum Hill. If you have a car the hotel's parking lot is handy and we never had a problem finding a space. The broad hotel portico, with tables and chairs and friendly bar service is very nice. The rather grand old-world lobby is pleasant. Our room, listed as a Deluxe King, was smaller than we expected for the price and had a somewhat awkward step-up bathroom, but it was nicely furnished, very clean, pleasant, bright and quiet - very comfortable. WiFi service was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I recently stayed at the Hotel St. Francis and I couldn't have been more pleased with its location. It's a block to the Plaza, 2 blocks to the Loretto Chapel and about 5 blocks to Canyon Road galleries. The manager at the front desk went above and beyond in helping answer my questions. The standard Queen room is tiny. I travelled alone and I could barely turn around in the room. You get only 2 small drawers to store your clothes and the closet is just as small. The bed makes up for it. Very comfortable. My only negative is if you stay in either room 228 or 328, be prepared to stay up all night. The door faces the stairwell and elevator. You hear people down in the lobby, walking up the stairs or the clatter of their suitcases as they head to the elevator. Needless to say, I didn't get a good night's sleep the 2 nights I was there. I actually cut my stay by 1 night because of this. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, just in a different location.

I recently stayed at the St. Francis for 2 nights (reservation was for 3 nights). The hotel is beautiful. You can walk to the Plaza from here and even a short walk to Canyon Road. The staff at the front desk were friendly, helpful and informative. The only negative would be the room itself. I stayed in Room 328 and my room faced the staircase and elevator. Everytime someone walked up the stairs or used the elevator, the noise level was horrible. I heard everything and actually had to stack the extra pillows against the door and on the floor to drown out the noise. I asked for a different room and was told I could get a different room for $20-$30 more a night. I decided to bear it for 2 nights but cut my stay short by a day because of it.

The hotel was beautiful, an excellent restoration with a nice bar/lounge downstairs and right in the heart of the City. Very clean, neat. No refrigerator in the room which was a bummer since we were there for four days, and they don't offer free breakfast, but other than that, very comfortable and accommodating.

  • It was a very quiet room even with a full hotel.
