A rundown, wornout 60s motel. The tub stopped up and was ankle deep after two minutes of showering. Someone had stuffed a cloth into the bathroom vent. Corners of the room were not clean. Parking lot needs better lighting for security.
Waited 10 minutes to be seated for breakfast because there were no clean tables, and they were understaffed. Waited to check out while the clerk answered phone calls. When I told her the stay was not good, she shrugged and walked away.

The room was clean and comfortable and very quiet. The free breakfast is a full meal served in the dining room, and was very good. For the most part, the staff was pleasant, but not very outgoing or informative when asked for directions or information about the area. Still would definately stay there again.

This hotel fit the bill for us because of the price and convenience. The outdoor swimming pool was COLD! The breakfast was just okay as it allowed for no substitutions and did not include enough fruit. The wait staff on our last day was completely distracted. Other than that, we did not have any problems at all.

My (adult) son and I recently spent one night here - upon entering the room, it smelled slightly of cat urine, but the smell went away quickly (thanks to the open/outside door). We found a dead roach on the bathroom floor after we returned from dinner out. There were very tiny, hopping bugs on one of the beds; they smashed easily, so we figured they weren't fleas (there were some evergreen bushes next to the outside/arcadia door so they could've come in from those.)
The front desk people were nice enough, but we went to the bar at 10 pm, after learning from the front desk that the bar/lounge was open until 11 pm. As we entered, the RUDE bartender gruffly stated "I'm getting ready to close. You guys can have one beer but that's it - and consider it last call." We should have just turned around and walked out. Well, we should have walked out when we first went to check in, but we were exhausted from driving all day, plus neither of us was familiar at all with the town. Summed up into one word, I'd have to say "shabby." Everyone else we came into contact with in Taos was friendly and nice - great town to visit!
