It is our second time to this hotel. Obviously, if we returned, we liked it the first time. The hotel sits on a hill, and pretty much any room you take, you are likely to have a nice view. It is not your Plaza luxury, but it is clean, and staff is very friendly. The restorant is nice, and you can have a very tolerable breakfast buffet. Evenings, you could sit at the bar, which is actually a very spacious, wood-decorated, dining room with big windows with a view on Lake Placid.
The crowne plaza has a wonderful adirondack feel. the check in was quick, and easy. the service was very good. the cleanliness of the hotel was also very good.

Best location in lake placid. This hotel sits up on a hill as soon as you get into town overlooking beautiful mirror lake. The lobby has a very warm inviting adirondack charm were u can just sit and have a drink and snack. Beautiful views no matter where the room is and the staff provides great customer service.

Lake Placid is a great place to stay for a day or two as the city is charming and the views amazing. If you are a natue lover and enjoy walking, hiking, biking or water activities, Lake Placid and the area is wonderful. The Crowne Plaza is not wonderful but it is not terrible. It's "beige"...and that describes everything inside from many of the staff to the rooms. The rooms tend to be on the dark side because of that beige theme and while nicely appointed need to be refreshed. The staff ranges from helpful to forgetful. If you have kids, there's a nice pool and a tennis court. The Boat House Restaurant is also very good and the $* per dinner coupon makes it a bargain for excellent gourmet food with a wonderful view right on Echo Lake. I really wish the place was just a shade brighter in their approach as they have a great scenic base to work with if they choose.
