I ended up with a late check in the first room the restroom was used we took pics reported it , the second room was a non smoking and there was what looked like bloodstains in the carpet .... we reported it buy this time it was around 1 30am .. then they switched us to a smoking king but was an adjoining room me and my fiance were supposed to have a nice night due to her leaving out of town the staff was really polite of course it was not there fault but for the price i paid and being a 4 star hotel , my experience was a bad one we ended up sleeping around 5 am moving from room to room till like 3am then we had to check out at twelve we ended up having a late check out till 2pm .. thats all we got for a 4 star hotel and for the price we paid .. very dissapointed.

Located in downtown Laredo, this hotel is nicely appointed and secure. Upon entrance, the hotel looks modest, but that changes once you get into the lobby where the guest is greeted by staff and lovely layout and furniture. The interior courtyards are lovely, the pool (although I didn't go for a swim) was nice. The hotel is large and can be a bit confusing, especially if you face the river. Stray cats scoot in and out of the outside spaces creating a "homey" feel to the place. The desk clerks are quite helpful, but be aware that they often take phone calls while you are checking in. One took five calls while I was trying to get my key. I asked for a different room and the staff were very accommodating and respectful. The room was wonderful and quiet with a nice balcony. The room was very spacious, was nicely appointed, and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was especially nice, the first that I have ever been to with double sinks in the bathroom! The shampoo (hair cleanser!), conditioner and lotion were of nice quality, and there were plenty of towels. The only thing I would have additionally wanted was more coffee. There was a single pack of Folgers caffeinated and decaffeinated. Now, since I drink only caffeinated, I needed more but the trip to the front desk was too far. I should have ordered from the front desk. The Internet connection was okay, and did kick me off during a conference call. Be sure to ask for a room with a strong connection if you are working from your room. I did eat at one of the two restaurants associated with the hotel, the Zaragoza Grill. The initial service, greeting, and seating was excellent, but that's about as far as it went. I asked for a margarita and a glass of water--the margarita was wonderful, but I had to ask for water three times before I got it. Once my margarita came, I again had to wait for the server to take my order. When he did, he didn't write it down and brought me the wrong dish. I had asked for vegetarian options and he brought me chicken. I often had to flag down the server to get additional parts of my order. On the whole, I would come back here again. Easy access to downtown points, the border (if you want to go to Mexico or the U.S.). There is a little park across the street, and taxis are easy to hail. I really liked my stay here.

I had a wonderful experience. I was there on business. Hotel has great location directly on the US/ Mexico border. I had an awsome suite and my balcony faced the Rio Grade River. Beautiful amenities. The Tack Room, one of the 3 resturants the hotel has, was amazing. The food and the service was higher quality than I expected. I had a horrible headache in the middle of the night, and the hotel drove me to a near bye grocery store to purchase my medicine! Well worth every penny!

Although there is some construction going on, it is a beautiful hotel. There is secured covered parking and even a doorman. The rooms were very nice with verandahs overlooking a park. Access to the Mexican border was within two blocks.
