This was the worst experience of my career. First off the room was awful, the courtyard side walks still had snow on them, and to top it off our room had not heat. After a sleepless night I tried to talk to management, but instead got a young girl who did not speak english and did not understand the nature of the problem. After a while she informed me that the manager would be there in five minutes. Five minutes later she told me it would be another 5 min. After an hour of that she finally called the manager (who spoke only broken english) who told me that if I wanted to talk to him I would have to wait another hour. I left without even having someone come and check that my heater was broken. I can accept the poor room because of the price, but being yanked around and having my time wasted was unacceptable.

The shower had someone elses hair lining the walls. Soap scum everywhere. The floors grout was black with grit. The pillow cases were clean, but one of the four pillows had drool marks all over it. Requested a second pillow and it looked as if someone rolled several socks up and stuffed it to create a pillow. We requested a nonsmoking room and the room smelled of smoke. In the morning we stood in line to grab some breakfast. One of the hotel maids had their siblings eating breakfast with us. We took our raisen bran cereral out to the pool side. One of the two tables was constructed of concrete. The concrete was broken in large areas. You couldn't lean up against it or else you would cut some skin off your arms. The chairs had some structural parts missing. Some one could easily fall through. The jacuzzi near the pool had brown water with black particles growing on the side walls. The gate that is supposed to enclose the pool area didn't lock. Socks, cigarettes, and old plastic water bottles were thrown about the enclosure.

RE: Econolodge in Wendover, UT
For starters, the place was filthy. Ice room (even filthier) didn't have a functional ice machine. Carpets ripped with ground in dirt, piles of dirt in every crack and corner. Sheets thin and did not feel fresh. No coffee maker, no clock, room essentially bare. Shower did not drain properly, leaving the showerer standing in 3-4 inches of dirty water by the end of the shower. During the shower, the water changed temperature from quite hot to cold constantly.
At 5 am we got up to shower and continue on our trip. I plugged in my hair dryer, and nothing happened. I hit the reset button and every light in the unit went out. I took all my hair-drying equipment to the lobby, and began drying my hair there. A bedraggled couple eventually showed up, wondering why I had awakened them. I smilingly (a tight smile) explained that our room had no electricity, so I was using the lobby.
"Oh, OK" was the response. As if this was the most natural thing in the world.
"No, it's not OK. It's room ***, the lights need to be fixed so we can see to pack our things and leave."
No response, and the two staggered away. No solution to the problem. A few minutes later my husband went down, and explained the situation again. "There's no one we can call," he was told. "Call the manager." he told them. At his insistence, after two tries, they eventually got a hold of the manager. After about 1/2 hour the problem was fixed.
To their credit, we did get a call a few minutes later telling us that they would deduct $* from the room cost. Thanks.

This was a wonderful stay. The room was nice and clean as were the common areas and grounds. I traveled with my son's two dogs and the staff was very helpful in the logistics of it. If you are travelling with pets this is an ideal place to stay.
