Upon check in, staff was friendly and prompt. When we opened door to room, temperature inside was comfortable and room was extremely clean. Bathroom well kept, everything worked in the room, nothing out of place, TV channels were clear.... overall, a very nice place to stay a few nights and rest from the road miles of travel.

My family loves Country Inn and Suites hotels, but this stay was below the usual high standards of others. The pros - wonderful hotel staff, beautiful indoor pool, extremely comfortable matresses. The cons - very tight area for breakfast made it uncomfortable to relax and enjoy their fantastic waffles. Also, our smokeless room on the 4th floor must have been part of a smoking area in the past since our room, the bed linens, and even the main hallway wreaked of cigarette smoke. All my family had sinus trouble by morning. We will continue to seek out Country Inn & Suites hotels (their waffles are THAT good), but will avoid this one in the future unless they make some changes - paint and new carpeting etc. If you're wondering why we didn't ask to have our room changed, it's because we had an emergency and didn't arrive until 2am. We were simply too exhausted to make a fuss.

My mother-in-law is a patient in the ICU at Mary Washington Hospital - so, needless to say, my family is very stressed and quick tense. We've been traveling back and forth assisting in her care. The management and staff at Country have been absolutely excellent to us! Everyone has been extremely helpful, pleasant and seemingly genuinely concerned about our family.
The most significant thing that took place was last week when my wife arrived for her second stay at the hotel - tired from traveling for work, and stressed about what was to transpire the next day with her mom, when the front desk attendant greeted my wife with a wonderful smile, had already checked her in, handed her the room key, and asked how her mom was doing! This to us really made a tremendous difference -- more than any of you will ever know! This was far beyond anything that she had to do, but we so appreciate her going the extra mile for no other reason than being concerned about us and our family.
We are very grateful to the Country staff for all that they have done for us during this very difficult time. My mother in law, is progressing well, but will need quite a bit of rehabilitation. We have no doubt that when we are away from home, Country is the place that we, as well as our extended family, will stay.
Thanks so much!

The location was excellent, adjacent to I 95. The room was clean and large and the beds were extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had two dogs and were not able to indicate that with the online travel website reservation so when we arrived we had to be switched to a room in the animal wing. That was not a problem until 7:45am the next morning when we got a call asking if the room needed service. We were sound asleep. I came to find out that the night desk attendant had not noted that the room had been changed and the staff in the morning did not have anyone staying in the room we were in. I still do not understand why it was imperative to call at that time of day. There was no clock or alarm on the bed stand. I found out the next morning that they were in the process of changing them out for better ones.
My other negative observation was that both at night and in the morning the desk clerk made disparaging remarks about quality of the equipment that the office staff had to work with. Honestly I did not need to hear about that.
The free breakfast was very tasty and the fresh cookies were excellent. The issues I mention were annoyances and did not affect our comfortable nights sleep.
