We really enjoyed the Divi resort overall, but there are some minor areas that need to be addressed.
First, the things we liked:
#1 was definitely Esmeralda - she was amazing and helped us out when we were booking our excursions and renting a car. Give that girl a raise!
- Kizzy, Dave, Scott (bar tender by the pool during the day), and the other gentleman at the Tiki-Hut - you all were wonderful!! They all had great personalities and were a pleasure to talk to.
- Caribbean BBQ night - the food was good, the entertainment was good (YOU NEED MORE OF THAT!)
- The view from our room was absolutely stunning.
- Basically the entire staff was fantastic.
- Great snorkling and non-motorized sports.
Things that need work:
#1 without a doubt is the entertainment - there really wasn't much to do after dark and we ended up drinking and falling asleep earlier because we couldn't find anything to entertain ourselves with after 10pm.
- The amenities are ok, but a lot of them are tired and need to be updated.
- The premium room we paid for had a cracked sink and a broken shower stall door... if you pay for a better room (the view was perfect) but the room was really beat up.
- The bed was hard a concrete - it's not a bad thing for people who like firm beds but our backs hurt every morning.
- The taxi driver had a terrible disposition and it was hard to communicate with him because he mumbled.
- The service is slow (everyone is on island time).
Overall, we would return to the Divi as we loved the people there and it was extremely relaxing and quiet regardless of the fact that there were three weddings going on at the same time. The Divi definitely needs to up the ante on the night life and cater to people who like to hangout past 10pm other than going to the Casino.
Even though it was the off season, the resort should still have more things going on during the evening to keep their occupants occupied since it's a 20 minute drive into town otherwise.
The Divi has a great staff, the food isn't half bad either, I liked everything that the Rok dinner was fantastic.
We really enjoyed the divi. everyone there was amazing. from esmeralda in the gift shop to the guys outside at the tiki-pizza hut.

We thought the Esmeralda was fantastic - she really helped us out when we were planning excursions and renting a car. Kizzy was extremely nice and very pleasant to talk to as well as the guys at the Tiki Hut. Dave and I can't remember the other gentleman's name were hilarious and kept the drinks coming. Scott down by the pool was also amazing and really has a great knack for making drinks not taste like alcohol hahahaha.
The house cleaners did a fantastic job and mopped our floors everyday.
The only problem I had with the room itself was the bathroom. It had a cracked sink and the shower stall door was broken. We're not high maintenance or anything but since it was our honeymoon, we figured that we should have received a better room since we paid for a premium room. Our view however, was completely stunning.
The other small complaint I have is that the bed is rock hard - we're used to a soft bed as opposed to a firm bed so it wasn't a huge issue. It was always clean, and comfortable, but after a full night's rest, our backs were killing us.
The staff was fantastic except for the taxi driver (he's really sullen) whose demeanor is a turn off and service is very slow (everyone is on island time).
Overall, we would return to the Divi again in the future.

Our family just returned from Divi Carina Bay, and after reading some of the earlier reviews I was a bit aprehensive about out trip. However, after experiencing the resort ourselves, we had a great time. The resort can use some sprucing up as it is an older establishment, but the staff were friendly and ready to accomodate. The food was not five star but very good. We were traveling with our 15 yr old son who is an eating machine, so the all inclusive aspect was a definite draw for us and it did not disappoint. Two of the nights we did the "ROK" dinner with filet mignon which you cook right at your table (very yummy). The view from our second floor room was spectacular and it was always clean. Another important feature was having the dive shop on the premises. Our son was there to finish his SCUBA certification and Cane Bay Scuba located right near the pool was terrific. hopefully we can there again

It is the only all inclusive on the island so not much choice It is functional but certainly not luxurious. Hotel could use a facelift. Food is good but not alot of variety. Water sports are weak and water sports staff is even weaker.
The beach is fair, alot of seaweed but the maintenance crew does work hard to clean it up in the morning.
If you go be sure to rent a car as you are away from everything (which is not necessarily a bad thing). The casino is totally unobtrusive to the resort and it's guests.
