My wife and I decided to at the last minute take a few days off and get away to San Diego. We stayed at the pacific Inn and what a location , it was so close to the water. The rooms were nice and clean and the price was awesome. We had a nice breakfast and walked the board walk it was a great few days. I really recommend this hotel, do not waste time shopping. good price and good value and your are treated as a person here.

Got a room at this motel for San Diego Comic Con and it was perfect for our group of 3 guys. It was a block away from a Con shuttle pick-up point (at The Hampton Inn), the convention centre was 10 minutes away, there's late night fast food nearby & a 7-11 for all your immediate needs.
Room is tight but tidy, beds were all right but clean, bathroom is small but again clean. There was a microwave & beer fridge in our room, we used the fridge a lot to keep our water cold.
Free breakfast is prepacked bagels, hardboiled eggs, cereal, juice & fruit - we only had it once, the rest of the time we were leaving at 4 AM to line up at the Con so we didn't take full advantage.
Wireless was reliable except for one night.
Had been worried about the complaints of noise from the railroad tracks nearby but we didn't notice after a bit. If you're a sensitive sleeper, it might be an issue.
The location is also right across the street from the waterfront and if you walk uphill a couple of blocks, you are in Little Italy where all the great coffee and restaurants of San Diego are. We got to hit up Bencotto for dinner one night and it was excellent. Also saw lineups at a couple of pizza places so food options abound.
Would I bring my wife & kids here for a once-in-a-lifetime getaway? No. Would I come here again next year with my buddies and use it as a crashpad during Comic Con?
Absolutely without question.
