Like everything in Japan, the rooms here are very small (compared to Western norms), but very tidy. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower great. Everything is expensive (like all of Japan): A couple of local phone calls cost me * yen (&$*USD) and the breakfast buffet is around $* USD.
The location is really convenient, with a subway station right outside the door. A short 6-minute walk down the street takes you to the Shinsaibashi shopping district. Walking from here to Namba is highly recommended as a great way to see Osaka. Takes you right over the famous bridge.
I had a little difficulty with the language barrier. The lady checking me in did not know how to ask in English for my confirmation number, but she was able to summon another employee who spoke a bit more English.
Overall, I thought the Chisun (also spelled Chinsun) was a great place in a great location, and for the price I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka.
Oh yeah, and when you enter the room, be sure to stick the plastic end of the keychain into the wall in order to power up your room. If you stick the metal key in there, it shorts out the entire hotel's electrical system (and might electrocute you too, Mark!)

I was most impressed with the front dest staff. They went out of their way to help me with directions, calls to the airlines, and general information. I also really liked their buffet breakfast. It included both Japanese and Western food. There was a great variety of food and pleasant surroundings. The location of the hotel was very good as well. The subway is right in front of the hotel; it's close to Dotoburi and Osaka Castle, and the temples.
