Best of the Virgin Islands Linda -- May 28, 2011 05:08 am 9 days of paradise, staying in one of the canvas cottages we loved everything about this place, the Hot Tub and deck area with awesome views of the sunrise over St. Thomas. Best plan is to bring some of your food (Even frozen meat made the trip fine in a collapsible cooler in a checked bag) pick up what you need at Pueblo's before getting on the water ferry to the Island, Yes, stop at Tickles for a drink too. We also purchased a multi trip ticket for the ferry on our first trip over and used all ten trips - going into St. Thomas for Carnival (what an experience) also used the Safari taxi to get to Red Hook for only 2.00 each, then took the Ferry to St. John's for a day/nite. Felt like we got the whole Virgin Island Experience without the hassle of all the other tourist, not to mention cost. We loved serenity of cooking at the pavilion overlooking the Cruise ships coming into port on St. Thomas and yes there are pesky mosquitoes so pack the bug spray, but if you forget there is some for use in the bathrooms, which I must say were beyond my expectations for composting toilets and solar heated showers and very clean. Also don't bother bringing shampoo, conditioner and shower gel it is all there for you to use. Celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary at the VI Campground was the best decision - not to mention how helpful Paul and Deborah are but you get to know the locals, we enjoyed a day sailing with Karl and Katie, the best snorkeling off Buck Island, cocktails at Joe's Beach Bar and snacks, drinks and Movies with Heidi's. Even had Pizza Friday nite on the Island. Honeymoon beach is a wonderful beach to sit back and watch the day go by - we toured the island by foot, so be sure to bring good walking shoes , Limestone beach , the Fort and Flamingo Point this was a GREAT VACATION. DON'T HESITATE BOOK NOW!!!! This place is just Magic! Fran -- May 10, 2011 01:16 pm It doesn't get any better then The Virgin Islands Campground. My husband and I spent seven wonderful days there. We stayed in the apartment which was bright, sparkling clean and quite comfortable. The setting is absolutely beautiful. The view was unbelievable, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed my morning coffee so much. We definitely recharged our batteries there. I can’t remember the last time I felt this relaxed and enjoyed such a perfect night's sleep. The location is fantastic...far enough away from the hustle and bustle of St. Thomas, but close enough that it's only a short ferry ride away. We had great fun exploring the island on a golf cart and loved Honeymoon Beach. Hates off to Debbie, Paul, and Allison...they were incredible hosts that provided excellent service combined with a personal touch that really makes you feel special. This place is perfect for couples of any age and families as well. CHEERS & THANK YOU for a delightfully memorable experience...We can't wait to come back again...soon!
