After a long search on the web, we managed to book a room on a website called bookhotelsinrome at Mirage Hotel for only 80 box per night (really cheap). We stayed for a week in May. Great location within walking distance of many sites as well as shopping and public transportation, and there is a wide range of restaurants within just a few blocks. The immediate area (between the Hotel and Termini) was somewhat seedy, but the Hotel was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but more than adequate in every respect. The staff was always coureous though some had only modest English, but between our poor Italian and their English we could communicate. Breakfast was simple by American standards, but very good. We would definitely stay there again.

Booked a lovely hotel near the train station, clean, good breakfast and we paid only 80 box ( double room) in high seeson!
