Overall, the hotel was up to the standard we expect from Country Inn and Suites. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff was courteous. That's why I gave it a 4 rating. The only problem was with breakfast. We showed up at 7:30. The eggs were dry. So were the biscuits. The orange juice was more water than juice. And the muffins were stale. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was to get a good breakfast, but ours was disappointing.

THis hotel was great right from the beginning, check in was easy, fast and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. the room, hotel and all areas were clean and comfortable.

The room I got was better than average. Cleaniness, it was the smell of room freshener and past smoker that gave me a headache- The room was a non-smoking room but I could smell a slight smell of smoke and a sickening smell of a room freshener- I had a nice size room refrigerator, a coffee pot, and microwave. Complimentry breakfast was okay, with you make waffles, danish, muffin, cereal, yogurt, biscuit, juices, and milk. Cookies in the lobby along with coffee- I was surprised that Boone/Banner Elk didn't have a mall- the so-called mall only had a few stores and the regular mall stores had a very limited stock. No Harley store in the area- for it to be a tourist area the town needs to try to grow its shopping for the tax monies that could come from the surrounding areas! I did enjoy the changing of the color on the trees- we are having an early fall and leaves and mountains were changing and putting on a color show- I was very fortunate to get to see the beauty and at the before season price!
