Microhotels are not plush, but they provide efficient rooms with all the necessities. The staff at this one is always pleasant and service has been overall, very good. The one time that I had a small problem with maid service they seemed earnestly apolgetic and made it right.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. It was the nearest hotel to a wedding we were attending. On the second morning, I went shopping and my husband worked in the lobby so our room could be made up. We went to get ready for the wedding at 11:30 a.m. and housekeeping had not been in the room yet. We returned from the wedding at 8:30 p.m. to find our room still not made up. My husband went to the desk and they did offer him fresh towels. That night the hotel was fairly noisy. At checkout we mentioned that the room had not been made up the previous day. The young lady at the desk printed out our bill and the young man said let me do something for that. He gave us a 10% off our next stay at that hotel. We have no reason to return to WV. After contacting Microtel, I get an email from the manager of the hotel that says sorry hope you enjoy your coupon! By the way, this hotel is directly across the road from a federal prison.

We stayed here overnight in September 2008 on a trip to check out Deep Creek Lake, MD on a romatic weekend.
This hotel was newly built and was fabulous as far as cleanliness, free internet in the lobby.
The main drawback here is that there is NOTHING around for miles. The Big Bear Lake Camp Ground is in the vicinity and may have had some eateries but there was nothing along the interstate except a convenience store. This is also next to the Federal Prison, which is (I believe) why the hotel is in that area.
The complimentary breakfast was good. Staff were all helpful anf friendly.

We just made a quick trip to Morgantown to drop my son off at college. Waited till the last minute to book a room and was worried about what we'd end up with. Was very plesantly surprised at the quality of the hotel and service. The rooms were very nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Left all son's stuff in the truck overnight and didn't have to worry that it would dissappear, no one bothered with it. Just wish it was a bit closer to Morgantown but actually it didn't take us too long to get to the campus from the hotel. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if necessary.

When we heard this hotel was directly across the road from the US State Pen we were just a bit anxious, but the prison is actually several miles away in the middle of several hundred acres. The hotel was very new and in great condition. The hotel is very easily accessed from Route 68 (you can actually see it from the highway as you are driving into West Virginia from Maryland.) A pool would have been a nice extra, but we actually weren't too disappointed. Morgantown in just a short drive west on Route 68, and the Maryland state line is even closer when you head back east. The continental breakfast was really quite good considering they have a very small area for the set-up. The staff was always helpful when things were needed (more cups for coffee/juice, a plastic knife in the evening to cut up our toddler's apple for her snack, etc.) I would certainly recommend this hotel if you're in the area. We were there for my Uncle and Aunt's 50th Wedding Anniversary in Friendsville, MD. We hope they decide to put in a pool in the future!
