Clean and Comfy but... Putnam -- Dec 09, 2009 09:03 am We walked to many hostels in Granada and finally picked Hospedaje Saramcanda because it is affordable (US 6/night), clean, and has a nice courtyard area for relaxing. The dorms are well-maintained with comfortable mattresses and fans. They offer two computers with fast internet and cable TV, including international channels. There is a complimentary breakfast of coffee with toast and jam. However, the hospedaje does have some downsides. It is not very tourist-oriented because the managers are not very familiar with Granada and do not know much about tours, bus schedules, restaurants, surrounding environs, etc. Also, the family and friends of the managers/owner are always hanging out at Samarcanda, watching TV all day, checking email, and relaxing in the courtyard. If you have any interest in watching TV, be prepared to watch what they are watching. |
