Ganpati Guest house is one of the best place to stay near Ganaga river . Rooms are very clean and some rooms have a very nice view on the Ganges. The guest house is very close to the main gate ( Dasaswmaedh Ghat ) & Manikarnika Ghat.
The rooftop restaurant has a beautiful view and tasty vegetarian food. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We had such a fabulously decorated room. Real old indian style. The hotel is right by the ghats at a quieter end, but a great place to start a morning boat trip from.

We ate in the hotel each night too and the food was really really good - not very spicy, but very delicately prepared and a great variety of dishes.

Varanasi was our first stop in India and we really appreciated somewhere to escape the madness of the city. We loved the evenings sitting on the beautiful terraces.

We've stayed in some really nice heritage homes around India now, but this was one of the ones we appreciated most.
