at check in the receptionist was very unfriendly. The room was very small with a view of concrete walls. The shower sprayed everywhere and flooded the floor. We needed a roll away bed which was 60 pounds a night, for nothing more than a mat on the floor. Breakfast was way over priced. We needed a taxi so receptionist called one, what we got was an overpriced private car which I saw the driver tip the receptionist for the job. Not worth the price even if it was in Belgravia. Will never stay here again.

The hotel seemed unprepared for guests. I checked-in rather late at almost to Midnight. I was put in a basement-floor room, but the drapes had fallen down. The light from the street lamps filled the room, and people walking on the sidewalk could see down into the room. I reported this to the receptionsit and she felt it was ok to wait until the morning. After chuckling at that offer, I was given another room. The TV did not work. Later it was fixed, but there was no (gasp) remote. One night, I was smoking a cigar outside when a taxi pulled up and a young women got out. It seemed that she worked there. After several minutes, the taxi driver got out and went up to reception. He returned to the street and the manager met him on the street. The manager tried to stiff the driver for the fare. They had an arguement on the street. It was an odd stay. Some of the staff, all young people from other countries, were very pleasant, but poorly trained. The hotel had recently reopened and maybe things have changed?

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days while visiting London. The location is excellent for touring as most guided tours leave from Victoria Station. We were in walking distance from many attractions including Buckingham Palace. The hotel was clean and quiet. The staff was very nice. The new refit is modern and elegant. We enjoyed the morning breakfast although it will cost you 11 pounds. I also appreciated the free internet access as it saved me a lot of money. The entire hotel is wireless so I was able to answer email while sitting in bed. The only downside is that the room is very small. Just enough space to walk around the bed. If you are bringing lots of luggage, you may not want to stay here or you can just pay for a bigger room. What we paid is not bad considering the location and new accomodations.
