This hotel is clean and safe....and that's about it. Although it is a very low price, we were still disappointed in the room. Not a good value. It is small and very basic. The other reviews don't paint an accurate picture. There is a lot of road noise and the walls are thin so sounds bleed in from other rooms. Bathroom towels are thin and tiny. Although the room was tolerable we will be staying somewhere else on our next visit.

Nice and clean. Friendly couple runs the place, great muffins in the morning. new bathrooms.There is a good but expensive seafood restaurant a block north and two blocks north there is a great cheap Mexican place. a scuba shop is right next door.

We were looking for an economical accomodations with eiither a pool or near by beach access so that my six year old son could have fun while my husband was doing business in town. We live 90 minutes north and decided on that last minute to join my husband on this trip. Oceanside in is an older motel with rooms that have been recently been updated (new carpet, new bathroom ttub and tiling. Soap and shampoo is provided along with a morning meal of milk, juice, coffee and muffin at the office. Many if not all rooms faced the parking lot and although this is right on Del Monte Ave (a busy street) we heard no street noice at night. The motel is located less than a block from a residential street that provides beach accedd (after a hike up a steep hill ). At $* ($* with taxes) in mid-July for a room with two queen beds, we felt it was a good value since we had no plan to spend much time in our room.

I wonder where the San Bruno family stays that causes them to say this place is overpriced. Even the Best Westerns were 50% more at least and the rest far higher. I think it was a real find to get into a place so close to the beach at a price point at least half of the next property with beach access. Based on this we expected a real flea bag of a place and were pleasantly surprised at it's cleanliness, spacious rooms and great location if you want fairly easy beach access for those who have no mobility problems. Unlike the San Brunio famlily we would consider staying here again for a short visit. Any longer and we would definitely want a factility with a pool.
