A great place to stay!

Me and some friends went to Kyoto for Golden Week and stayed in Sandal Wood. It was absolutely perfect! The lovely guy who runs the hostel is extremely helpful in giving you directions and recommending spots to visit. He is also very kind and generous, there's free hot drinks and pretty much everything in the fridge was available to us. There's a big supermarket right opposite as well so food shopping is not an issue! The place is clean and tidy, the rooms are comfortable and safe and there is free internet access. There is also a common room with comfy sofas and a big TV. Enough bathrooms and toilets and also an aquarium! Why not!

The price is very reasonable (for Japan) and there is no curfew. Sandal Wood can be reached easily by bus and the metro and is well-connected to other sights in Kyoto. All in all, I really recommend going there for the relaxed atmosphere and the lovely and kind attitude of the owner!
