Highly Recommended! Plain facade hides a real gem!

The Best Western Sunrise Inn - Stony Plain - - deserves a HUGE bouquet after our stay there this past weekend. We were thoroughly impressed with the facility in every way. The icing on the cake was the awesome breakfast offered daily - free - in a lovely room just off the hotel lobby. Fresh waffles!!!

The staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. There was a $10 difference per night between the price on the website and the email confirmation we had rec'd - - but the front desk staff had no problem charging us the cheaper rate we had originally discovered online.

++Plus - The pool area is very clean and airy and bright with lots of windows. The adventurous ones in our group thought the water slide was awesome - - extremely fast!
--Negative - Make sure you bring down your towels (from your room) - we had to ask for a few and the ones that were brought were very small and surprisingly thin.

++Plus - We had a suite on the top floor and really appreciated the 10 ft ceilings to add to the sense of spaciousness. 2 queen beds in the bedroom, hide-a-bed sofa in the living room, a large entry area .... plus 2 bathrooms - - - for 6 adults & 2 children - - and we had plenty of room.
--Negative - The 2 nights we stayed there the internet was extremely slow - completely gave up on using our laptop.

The drive between Edmonton and Stony Plain compares to some of the drives we have actually made IN the city from one destination to another - - so to us it was worth the 20 minutes or so - double lane highway all the way makes it less stressful anyway. We will definitely be returning and will sing the praises to friends and family!
