While this hotel is rated as a 4 star, the room was kind of dingy; large enough but bed was just adequate, linens less than adequate, toiletries barely adequate. Hotel staff was excellent, helpful and friendly and even recommended a great nearby restaurant. the location is what is the best thing about this hotel. Wonderful area and close to everything. Very safe and near the beautiful Hotel de Ville.
Perhaps if this hotel is upgraded, painted and some attention is paid to the rooms it would truly be a 4 star. Maybe we just didn't get a room that HAD been updated. Nice stay though.

The staff was more than helpful. We rented a car at the train station and actually walked to the hotel prior to getting the car, it was that close to the train station. Food was excellent and the staff helped us to plan our day trips. Go and see the Leonardo DaVinci house. The castle's in the Loire Valley are really something to see and I would go again to see more and spend more time there. Each chateau takes about 3 hours or more to view. I would suggest you rent a car in advance of your stay. If we hadn't had a reservation, we wouldn't have had a car. The hotel was located in the center of town and we went out at night to have dinner and to walk without any hesitation. If you are thinking about staying in Tours, this is the perfect little hotel to stay in. Restaurants are plenty in the area, they have a nice breakfast buffet at the hotel which is included in the price. The rooms were roomy and clean. We even had great cell phone reception in the room. I would certainly stay here again on my return trip to Tours.

Our double room was, by European standards, huge. The room was well-appointed in a stately manner and clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful, offering to make phone calls on our behalf to arrange chateau tours, etc. The restaurant was closed for the month we were there (July), but there were plenty of nearby dining options and the hotel was also close to the train station and a pedestrian zone of shops and eateries. By my standards, it was a bit expensive to stay but probably a good value considering the size of the room and level of refinement and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if I wanted to splurge.
