Ideal Father and Son Adventures
I was looking for a holiday to get my teenage son away from computers and mobiles and actually spend sometime together. Mike provided just that. We went on a multi activity week and it was certainly that. The idea being to get Greig out of his comfort zone and return him to his mother after a week in one piece. We spent the week scrambling over the Horns of Alligin(his 1st Munro) onto Sgurr nan Gillean over the Saddle on the Forcan Ridge. Three breathtaking and scary peaks. Scary that is without a guide but in Mike we had one of the best. His calmness and utter professionalism meant that although Greig may have filled his shorts on a number of occasions i never thought i might lose him.
Mountain and Sea Guides are a local owner operated concern. Their instructors know the area they live and work in like no other company can. And what an area. Applecross and the Torridon Mountains must be the best playground in Scotland with the advantage of a superb Pub at the end of another exhilarating day.
My week with Mike provided just what i had wanted. Time with my son but much more importantly it has given him the taste for the mountains.
At the end of our week lying in our tent absolutely knackered listening to the rain batter off the roof hoping it was waterproof i asked my son, would he like to go to the Med next year and learn to sail? No dad can we come back next year.

Stunning surroundings for an amazing five days of kayaking. Mike took us from beginners to paddling off for a three day excursion with a lot of patience and took a great deal of care teaching us the basics very thoroughly. He has exceptional knowledge about the local flora and fauna and even teaches broader concerns like expedition planning. The equipment and preparation were excellent and we had complete faith in Mike's leadership of the group at all times. Delicious local food and comfortable accommodation. The perfect break from busy city life!

Just got back from a 5 day sea kayaking trip with Mike and had a fantastic time. We had done a little bit of paddling before but not in sea kayaks. Mike was a brilliant instructor and took us through the core and intermediate skills on days 1 & 2, before we set off on our 3 day camping expedition. Because of the wind conditions we headed to Loch Torridon, where we wild camped at a beautiful spot - watching the sunset and the seals pop up to say hello! The kayaking was tailored to the skills and speed of the group, and everyone finished feeling like they had really achieved something over the week. Mike had thought of and prepared everything, and we felt entirely confident in his leadership throughout. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for such a great week!

We joined mike as absolute beginners for 5 days kayaking in Croatia, he was a great teacher and gave us such confidence in a completely new activity. So much so that we have booked another trip to Canada with him this August, his fantastic cooking skills were a bonus as well !
