Darien Gap Jungle Expedition - Panama

"I've been backpacking around Panama and was referred to this Darien Jungle tour by a fellow traveler. It is by far the cheapest deal out there and I was surprised that you actually get a lot of value for your money. The booking service was easy and well organized. I made my way to the meet up point, which entailed changing a couple of busses but was easy. The next three days I slept in rustic, but comfortable raised houses with mosquito nets, and trekked through the jungle, in awe with the magnificent nature that surrounded us. I also met the villagers who were very friendly and humble. During our trip we fished in the river and made lunch on an open fire. Definitely one of my top travel experiences...

My girl friend and I had the most amazing adventure trekking through the Darien Jungle. An adventure of a life time. Our guide was very knowledgable about the plants and animals we encountered and kept explaining their characteristics and uses in local medicine. The lodging was very comfortable and quite an experience falling asleep with the jungle around you.
