CapeRace offers outdoorsy, soft adventure, meaningful travel packages that bring Newfoundlands rich history, performing arts, and the pristine wilderness together to create what we call an "EcoCulture Experience". This occurs at the intersection of Newfoundland's unique cultural heritage, amazing wildlife and scenic wonders. It appeals to the mind and soul of the curious traveller and ensures the selfguided experience is filled with a sense of personal meaning and accomplishment. Sense of place, or geographical character of our destinations is highlighted through the encouragement of traveller participation in the local community but on your own terms, your own time, and in an authentic, sustainable setting. CapeRace will give you a key that fits the locks of three newly restored historic homes situated in spectacular coastal locations, a car, and a selfpublished traveller's guidebook. Travellers stay at these authentic indigenous homes on an exclusiveuse basis, and use the selfdirecting guidebook to explore unique and outoftheway nature sights, pubs, and music venues recommending activities that will inspire the traveller to become part of three local communities. Each are located within a three hour proximity, and offer a different measure of Newfoundland's intriguing cultural, scenic, and sporting assets. The flexible selfdriving, selfcatering circuittour gives you the opportunity to experience cultural and ecological discovery at your own pace, on your own terms. In 2004 we introduced our first tour, the "EcoCulture Experience". This spring, the package was chosen by the editors of National Geographic Traveller as the "Tour of a Lifetime" for 2008, based on a criteria of authenticity, seasoned expertise, sustainability, unprecedented access, and local connections.

A week savoring the sites, flavors, and stories of eastern Newfoundland. We enjoy the New World's first city St. John's and we watch whales, view hundreds of thousands of puffins and other birds, look for icebergs, explore coastal trails, and simply have fun exploring with a small group of fellow travellers (20 or less). We stay in great local hotels and we share enough unique adventures to make all of our friends back home very jealous. Folks with ragweed and pollen allergies love the fact that there is no ragweed about. Our Newfoundland Adventures go from the first week in June to mid August...after which whales, most seabirds, and icebergs are scarce.
