CENTRAL COAST GREAT BEAR RAIN FOREST
The full benefit of the Mothership concept is realized when we venture into the great expanse of
isolation in the Central Coast of BC, also called the Discovery Coast and the Great Bear Rain
Forest. These expeditions start Wednesday in Victoria, where you travel by private van up
Vancouver Island, stay overnight in Port Hardy, BC Ferry north to meet the Mighty ROLANO at
430pm Thursday afternoon in Namu, explore the Great Bear Rain Forest for six days and depart
from Shearwater at 430pm Wednesday for the return BC Ferry ride south back to Port Hardy
(745am). After breakfast you'll then travel by van down the length of Vancouver Island to Victoria,
or Nanaimo if Vancouver is your destination. Eight day trips overall with six days (sleeps) on
board ROLANO, except for two 11 day trips (10 sleeps on board) when we go North and again
when we come South travelling between Port McNeill and the Bella Bella area in the centre of the
Great Bear Rain Forest, where you travel with us across Queen Charlotte Sound. An alternate
plan could make the north and south trips only five days each, allowing for two more eight day
trips.
917 August & 1624 August 8 days = $1520
(includes 6 sleeps on board = $1305 + 66 van +66 hotel +83 Ferries = $1520)
30 July10 August & 23 August3 September 11 days = $2134 (average N&S).
Includes 10 sleeps on board = $1958 (5% extended booking discount) for ship, plus van ($66), Port
Hardy hotel & food ($66), BC Ferry $46 one way south and $36 north. North = $2126 South = $2141
(averages $194 pp per day)
