We are adjacent to 800+ acres of public land with a wonderful large pond/lake and numerous hiking and nordic skiing trails. Snowmobile and ski trails cross our property as well as this public land. The capitol of Maine in nearby Augusta offers a wealth of cultural attractions including the newly renovated State House, Olmsteaddesigned capitol park, the Maine State Museum, and Old Fort Western which once guarded the head of tide in the Kennebec River. Hallowell, where the Inn is located, offers a varied selection of restaurants and unique antique and other shops in a national historic district on the banks of the Kennebec River. Really lots to do in the area, but off the beaten track without lots of tourists.
