Dungeness Spit National Wildlife Refuge and the surrounding landscapes are paradise for birdwatchers. After crossing the strait from Canada, birds seek the spit for shelter and forage. Puffins, shorebirds, and waterfowl congregate along the spit while songbirds and raptors settle into the woods and onto the open fields of the refuge and recreation area above.
