It is an easy three minute walk to West Cliff Drive and the Lighthouse, a five minute walk to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and a fifteen minutes walk to historic downtown. Santa Cruz offers the beaches, Boardwalk, dog friendly parks, basketball courts, soccer, a new million dollar skateboard park, San Lorenzo river, Stagnaros and Gildas on the wharf, renowned Mariannes ice cream, Pacific Cookie Company, Seabright brewery and the wonderful and fabulous Pacific ocean. Close by in town are Cinemas, Libraries, Museums, Laundromats, Hospitals and Churches. Spectacular sunsets are included at no extra charge at the end of West Cliff Drive in the Natural Bridges State Park home of Monarch butterflies. Its a short drive south to the Monterey Peninsula or a little longer drive north up the famous Pacific Coast Highway to Davenport, Half Moon Bay, Pacifica or San Francisco. A lot of marine research goes on in this sanctuary because it is extremely deep very close to shore.

Local attractions include the Redwood Forests, excellent golf, the Beach Boardwalk historic amusement park which has an awesome roller coaster right on the beach! Boats are available for sunset cruises, Roaring Camp Railroad gives steam train rides up in the mountains, and the wine tasting in the Santa Cruz appellation is superb.
