A week savoring the sites, flavors, and stories of eastern Newfoundland. We enjoy the New World's first city St. John's and we watch whales, view hundreds of thousands of puffins and other birds, look for icebergs, explore coastal trails, and simply have fun exploring with a small group of fellow travellers (20 or less). We stay in great local hotels and we share enough unique adventures to make all of our friends back home very jealous. Folks with ragweed and pollen allergies love the fact that there is no ragweed about.Our Newfoundland Adventures go from the first week in June to mid August...after which whales, most seabirds, and icebergs are scarce.

Irish Loop Coffee House and Hostel is located on the main highway in Witless Bay. The coffee house offers a variety of delicious desserts. The dining room overlooks the Atlantic Ocean in all its glory. Breakfast is served all day and light lunches are available. We have lots of books on hand if you just want to sit and read. There is hiking galore in the village. I also have 2 rooms to rent. Both rooms have a splendid view. We travel through a great deal of magnificent mountains and northern country including "Gros Morne National Park (A UNESCO World heritage Site)We also explore and see many signifigant historical and natural sites and attractions including a 1000 year old Viking site and a 16th century Basque whaling station.Some of our tours include a 2 day trip on the "Sir Robert Bond" a large car and passenger ferry where whales and icebergs are often seen.Staterooms are provided on the ferry. We also visit the northern communities of Labrador City,Wabush,Churchill Falls and Happy ValleyGoose Bay.At Churchill Falls we can arrange a guided tour of one of the largest hydro electric generating stations in the world. In Labrador City we can tour a major iron ore mine.We will be hiking in to Hamilton falls which is two times as high as Niagara.
For those who have never experienced the Canadian north it is an amazing trip well worth seeing.
The sights are limitless and the vistas everchanging.
